"Yeeee Gads! My hair fall!" This is a cry that can affect your whole family for long, awkward moments. What is it with your hair? Is it ever?

Let's dispel some confusion and try to quality to some of panic on this kind of look in the mirror.

About Hair

Healthy hair just looks good. The health of your scalp and hair follicles, the better your hair will look. If you start to experience some hair loss and a general decline in the overall health of your hair and scalp, it was probably the deteriorating for some time, and you are only now see the effects.

Hair grows in cycles of three phases. Each hair is in a growth phase (anagen phase) for 2-6 years before entering a transition phase (phase catagen) for 1-2 weeks, then a resting phase (telogen phase) for 5 -- 6 weeks. After that, the hair dies and falls. Then the follicle returns to the growth phase, and a new hair begins to grow.

In normal, healthy adults, approximate percentages of hair in these three phases are:

84% of growth (anagen) phase
0-1% in the transition (catagen) phase
14-15% in the rest (telogen) phase
Returning your hair follicles to the anagen growth cycle is the goal of any plan to regrow hair healthy.

DHT effects on the hair follicle

The medical term for hair loss is alopecia. It is defined as a state where 20% or more of a hair are in the telogen (resting) phase.

In cases of alopecia, the growth cycle of hair was amended so that the anagen (growth) phase is shortened. The result is an increase in the percentage of hairs in the telogen phase and catagen.

The enzyme conversion of testosterone creates a compound called Di Hydro-testosterone (DHT). The effect of DHT on hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the scalp can be detrimental to the anagen phase that you want to extend.

In the areas of thinning hair or loss, the follicles are more sites that may include DHT, and DHT these sites. This accumulation of DHT near the follicles can shorten their growth phase and increase the number of hairs in the transition phase and rest. The continuation of this accumulation of DHT actually reduce the hair follicles, causing their hair to become thinner, weaker and less healthy.

Reality Check: No product known today grow hair without a viable hair follicle. Only a hair follicle healthy can grow a hair.

A healthy hair follicle can withstand the negative effects of DHT and accumulation to continue in a normal cycle of unhealthy growth that we can. Hair care products that seek to mitigate by DHT work for the same binding sites on the hair follicle DHT attached. This blocks the abnormal response of the follicle DHT, so it blocks the damage that is causing the weakening and loss of hair.

The nutritional supplements recommended by a naturopathic physician work by helping the body to normalize hormone levels, while increasing the flow of nutrients and disposal of waste products from the hair follicle. This increases the strength of the follicle and protects it from further damage.

The amounts converting enzymes that create DHT testosterone, and the amounts of testosterone and cortisol, is believed to be genetically determined. That is why some people tend to have fewer problems with DHT than others.

The good news is that the gene expression (ie, how their body is present) may be changed by what one does in the coming weeks, months and years, and how they do. Thanks to scientific advances in understanding these physical events, you can arm yourself with the right information and learn to make the changes necessary to stop a hair loss problem. We'll explain how next.

Hair Loss

A variety of health conditions and environmental factors can cause hair loss. Similarly, many different approaches can be taken to stop hair loss and even hair back.

While much hair is important for us, but the body has many other important things to do on an ongoing basis. Some are higher priorities than to keep hair shiny - things like breathing, waste disposal, food absorption, protection against infection itself, fleeing danger, and so on. If the body has a limited budget of energy, nutrients and strength, he began to redirect its resources to the tasks it deems most important. It is fortunate for us.

If events occur at lower than the budget, the agency May find it necessary to prioritize other functions more than hair growth.

For example, if a person undergoes a series of radiation treatments to kill cancer treatments begin a stress on the body. The body of the first priority is to live and breathe the growth of hair of another beautiful day. Accordingly, the hair loss is often the result of radiotherapy. Regrowth of hair after this kind of trauma is possible, however, depending on the state of hair follicles and the overall capacity back to health. Naturopathic doctors call this "vital force".

The main causes of hair loss

Hair loss may also be caused by different types of injuries to the scalp, such as burns, radiation, acid spills or scratches. If the follicles are destroyed and replaced by smooth skin or scar tissue, a lotion or vitamin routine will not be very likely restore hair growth. At this stage it is time for a May implant, a weave, a wig or toupee. Or maybe it's just time to accept the reality of a lack of hair. Bald can be beautiful, too.

In addition, various genetic diseases, trends, and auto-immune body can lead to neglect the health of the hair follicle, or even attack. Some of these attacks could be triggered by environmental toxins, side effects of drugs, nutrient deficiencies, irregularities metabolic hormones, or inappropriate disposal of waste. Here we could discuss lifestyle choices and explanations of natural sciences such as nutrition, physiology, biochemistry and until your eyes glaze over.

If you take anti-depressive drugs as Zoloft or Paxil, you must be aware that the known side effects of these types of drugs can include hair loss. The vicious cycle of its composition depression to cope with hair loss due to these drugs is something worth trying to avoid. Work with your doctor and be smart about your use of all drugs because many drugs have adverse effects on the growth of hair.

If you are a "stress puppy", and any disruption in your plans tears you to pieces for hours or days at a time, your body's response to these stress hormones may be another factor in loss hair and aging. Some training in stress management or anger resolution would be your best choice, while addressing the resulting loss of physical medicine and hair lotions.

Sudden hair loss

Sudden hair loss may occur after severe psycho-physical illness, childbirth, menopause, loss of employment or loss of a loved one. This type of hair loss appears in a few weeks or months of trauma, depending on its severity. It is often reversible over time, emotional healing and the principles of physics support described here.

Hair loss in women

Rarely women lose their hair for reasons of genetic predisposition. They are, however, experience hair loss from other causes that we have already mentioned. In addition, women are more frequent consumers of hair that are known to damage hair and cause breakage and thinning. Rough handling, trading harsh shampoos, perms, hair color, bleach, all cosmetics and can damage the hair follicles. Hormone fluctuations events in the lives of men or women also contribute to stress on the physical condition of the hair follicle.

Factors to Consider

What your body needs to keep your hair well? Factors include good nutrition, the effective elimination of waste, affecting the movement exercise, a good attitude, use of security products nontoxic, and protection against injury. These contribute to a healthy glandular functions, especially of the thyroid, adrenals, gonads and liver. If the links in this chain of hormone functions are weak or broken, your hair will probably be the least of your problems. It could be the most visible in your mirror, though.

Before spending large sums of money on lotions or supplements to treat hair loss, try to understand what is causing your hair loss, and change what you can about this sub - inflation.

Enlist the help of your doctor about any internal causes. Have you tested the levels of thyroid hormones, adrenal, pituitary, and functions of testes or ovaries. Make sure your nutritional intake and digestive functions are for. Again, this is a complex issue. It will take some study on May lotions and natural medicines available to find a plan that works for you, but the benefits for your health and appearance will be worth the effort.
